Yeah, something happened as a result requests that shouldn't have been cached started being cached.
as to WHAT happened specifically, i have not a fucking clue yet, i'll have to look into why GET requests were being cached. they really, really, really should not be. this was a shitty time for this to happen as i'm constantly being shuffled around planes/hotels/ubers etc without a stable internet connection
for now caching will remain disabled until i figure out why this happened
edit 2: re-enabled for now. if shit breaks again please delete every post/comment again so i know it's broken
don't be mad at whoever used this bug for fun, it's the nature of the internet and should be expected :)
edit: since this only happened after a few days, i have a feeling it was caused by a bug in one of the underlying caching libraries. this has been the only time period where the site was allowed run for more than a day without being restarted for code updates.
views should NEVER be cached, and this seemed to be what was happening yesterdya.
99% certain it's a library bug that only made itself clear after some limit/storage overflowed/filled somewhere. i'll diver deeper into it once i get back to the hotel today
