Hey, after thinking about it, I have come to the conclusion that broadening the ieddit cultural audience, and providing an alternative for communities that exist outside of the angosphere, can only be a good thing. Perhaps there are communities which exist that I've never even heard of which would benefit greatly from an transparent, uncensored platform like ieddit.
Unfortunately I only speak english. If anybody here natively speaks (or is fluent in) a language of a culture in which there is a need for a platform like this, and are willing to volunteer their time, please send me a message on the site or join the discord and we'll start discussing the best way to go about doing this. I'm going to be working on 3rd party bug bounties for the rest of tonight, but starting tomorrow I'm available the entire weekend to go about implementing this.
Also, the next feature planned is (optional, client-side) inline image/video expansion in comments and self-text posts.
This week I've been focusing mainly on bug bounties (and learning C). I was able to find a few bugs, the bountys of which should hopefully provide funding for the site for a good while.
In terms of platform activity, I think this place is going to remain relatively low volume until reddit fucks up again (or if somebody with a large audience advocates for ieddit). This time, the platform is developed enough to work as a serious alternative, all that is needed is a good opportunity to make people aware of it.
Active development has not stopped, I've just had to focus on things which provide me a revenue stream IRL since I spent a couple of months working on ieddit daily.
Thanks to everybody that has been hanging around and lurking <3, hopefully we'll get a chance soon to help improve the internet.
